Beautiful park with a collection of 24 traditional Japanese buildings.

Japan may be, probably is, one of the most beautiful countries in the world. But the going used to get heavy for those who had to live there. Of course, my (I guess) West European ancestors weren't much better off. Even then, look at everything they did to carry that load of snow on their houses. The eternal struggle with rotting wood and leaking roofs. How they built layers of floors to at least try and keep the cold out.
As Willy remarked: Oh, how lucky I've been to live in other times and places!

In quite another place, we were told those warped ceilings served to combat claustrophobia.
Now that's interesting.
