Built by the Dutch (and it shows) way back when, 'sitting on the side of the bay' - not any more, though. This thing is much more impressive than our Curaçao Waterfort and Riffort, and even than the Jamaican Port Royal fortress.
Goes to show you where the real money was: Go east, man.
