These things are to be found all over the country
sometimes they serve to express thanks for granted favors, like these
sometimes they are regular shrines - where, more often than not, you can ask for favors.
Hey, listen, what's a saint worth if she doesn't help you out?
You'll find these little altars cluttering up the sidewalk about one block from the central station.
Eventually, something will have to be done about them. Relocating them no doubt will bring strong protests.
The same problem is turning up everywhere in cities and along highways.
But the main conclusion you have to draw is: "Boy, is this place superstitious!"
