Cherry Blossoms
Hanamiyama Park
Fukushima

Fukushima: A very famous park. Maybe too famous?
Visited by thousands upon thousands of Japanese tourists, arriving there by many bus loads.
Remember, these blossoms only last for one week or so.

It isn't always so easy to make a selection. This time, I've gone almost all the way in the hope to convey the feeling there is so much to enjoy there. Incredibly, almost oversaturatedly rich; it just goes on and on no matter where you stand or look.
There's so much detail in these pictures, some of these files are relatively enormous in size, like about 150Kb; something I always try to avoid. Sorry if you don't have broadband (yet).

I also have to tell you, looking through Hiroshige's work you can't help noticing that he had enormous problems really depicting blossoming cherry trees: Is it a mass of splendor or are they individual flowers? Both, all at once... so he has to be content with abstractions. Of course, he's very good at that.
